Recently my interest...

English 2007. 3. 11. 11:54
I've been staying in canada for 11 months.

Nowadays, actually, I returned to close to Korean, so Im feeling deteriorate in English..but..

Contrary to that, still experiencing new thing is so funny.

Recently, my interest is how foreigners think about Korea. I think that after I go back to Korea, I may have a chance to write a postscript, Im interested in those kind of things since someday.

If somebody goes to another country, he will be a patriot. Actually, I sometimes try to hear what foreigners think about Korea.

But, actually, in Canada, I've never had those kind of experience. Because, most Canadian don't go to Korea, so they have no idea about Korea.

What they think about Korea is, first of all, North Korea(So, I often get an asking that you are from North Korea.), except it, Asian like Japan, China.....-0-, and, spicy food, sojo...maybe that's all....-0-

Besides, a person who has been to Korea, usually mentions good things about Korea. Because, they can't insult in front of Korean. But, it's the same as whoever...

So, that's why it's hard to know what foreigners think about Korea in Canada.

Instead I have something to see recently.

First, "Chat of a Beauty". Inviting beautiful foreign women who are living in Korea, and compare between Korea and their country, and sometimes scolding, sometimes praising are one of the reason why I think it's good TV show.

And, secondary, newspaper column which called "While I stay in Korea" is serialized by Kyoung Hyang Newspaper that I found today.

This column is similar to "Chat of a Beauty"; these are columns that foreigners write their experience or misunderstanding, comparison and thinking while they work or stay in Korea.

Canadian, American, Japanese, there are lots of interesting; sometimes I agree with them, or disagree with them, and I realized what Korean is that I didn't know. And it's quite funny.

And, What Im going to tell is,

love story between man and woman.... -0-

Well, one of the reason is, of course, one Japanese girl who I knew and like in Toronto..... (((( ㅡ_-)a

However, what I want to say is, this is not serious.

It's my thinking when I saw two columns that I mention the column, "While I stay in Korea" of Kyoung Hyang Newspaper above...

Two column have two examples,

one of them is that a guy was Korean, a woman was foreigner(exactly Japanese.. -0-),

the other one is that a gus was foreigner, a woman was Korea.

First of all, second one.

The main idea of this column was the story about misunderstanding in Korean like a code. It happened, because even though it's the same words, it has extremly different meaning that it depends on situation or a nuance..

So funny thing on this column is the story between a foreign guy and Korean woman.

A foreign guy fell in love with Korean woman, so they became friends, after that, the woman felt the guy has feeling more than friend, so she suddenly had an indifferent attitude, then the writer thought their relationship finished.

B! U! T!

She started to change her attitude to frustrated guy little by little, finally, they realized that they have similar feeling to each other. So the foreigner said that the common thing to Korean woman is....

"Virtue" to pretend refusing that it's "warm"...

But more important thing is....

I didn't know that!!!!! Ha!!!

Ah....I got it.... that's why I've never had a girlfriend... ㅜㅜ

Ah..Korean woman has "virtue" to pretend refusing that it's "warm"......(((((((((((( ㅜ_-)////

Am I.....

Korean.... -0-

Next, the first one.

The main idea of this column is, usually there are lots of couple between Korean guy and Japanese woman more than Japanese guy and Korean woman. So Japanese writer analyzed why it happened in her way.

Well, I also get a question such as this since I stayed in Toronto, the question is that Korean guys prefer Japanese girls...

The best answer about this question is on this column. I've already said like that...

"Obviously thing is that nationality like Korea, Japan is not important. Just while we live in our life, we fall in love after meeting by chance or inevitable."

Well, anyway, I started to be interested in the other country, and I realized that English is funny.

While varous people live with their various personality, we wouldn't be able to have good situation all the time.

By this meaning, Im going to tell the other episode...

Today, after i had a meal with my friends, while I went back to school I met an old woman. Her accent was so tough, so I could't hear very well, but the main idea was like this.

She likes whilte people, black people, both, but the asian was so terrible, and she showed her thumb down "kindly"...It's my first time to experience racial discrimination in Canada....

Of course, Im first absurd, and I almost get angry...but...

I suddent thought that one of my teacher's mothere, she also doesn't like Asian to call them "Jap". I don't know exactly, but I heard because of Japanese in World War 2.

So, maybe, I thought she might have her story.

Various people live with their various personality in the world, so I just forgot it.

Anyway, I hope lots of people feel lots of things about Korea after they smile or cry by Korea, especially good things...

But, I hope they don't full the stereo-type about Korea from a few case.
