[Canada] French Canada - Ottawa(1-3, Apr , 2007)

Ottawa is...

the capital of Canada.

All thought that Vancouver or Toronto is the Capital of Canada, but...

unexpectedly, Ottawa is the Capital of Canada. As it shows such as "unexpectedly things"...

the city is also so small.. -0- Actually, this area is not in French Canada... but, I misunderstood that this is in Canada, so just Let's think that Ottawa is in French Canada only this time... -0-

The first time in Ottawa was that the weather was uncomfortable, then later,

it began to rain... -0- shit, so the weather was not so good, and the picture was also so, so.. -0-

The main point in Ottawa is...

Parliament;;;

as this is the capital, the Parliament.. is.. really...

magnificent......and... shock....(in my case)

if sightseeing only this, maybe, it's enough to look around Ottawa. I mean,

There is nothing there except Parliament.. -0-

I recommand more...

the first one is, Canada Aviation Museum!

Of course, I couldn't see the newest fighters, but i could see lots of aircrafts, and fighters....

so, it's the place where man and boy would like to see....-0-

so, i just visited there recklessly...i think it's not so popular....

most visited there by their cars, I only visited there by bus I think... -0-

I felt weird when I took the bus alone... -0-

The problem is.. it's so far away from downtown, so you should check it out how to get there if you wanna to there... if sth wrong, it's easy to get lost... -0-

The other one is..., right, church... ....Notre Dame Cathedral

Here is also, really, really, great, and one of great church...

while walking on the street, it's good place to take a rest for a while, but don't chat with friends

Ah! One more recommendation is, Canal Rideau..but, this time was not so good day.. so i just took a picture a little.. -0-

and one more,

if you look for good accommodation, How about Ottawa International Youth Hostel..

In the past, it used to be Prison.. but now it was remodeled, so it's the attractive place where has unique atmosphere...

in ther references, the girls who was receptionists, are gorgeous(not only one, it's two!!) -0- ha~~ nice~ ( ㅡ_-)///

if the weather would have being great, I wanna take more nice picture, but it didn't allow me.. shit!

so, I recommend you to travel in the nice weather.... -0-

p.s this trip is, actually, not so fun... I think it's half-right as when I thought before I begin to travel..
But, actually, it depends on a person, however, in my case, it's not suitable for me that tavelling alone.. but just...

I thought a lot while Im travelling, it's a chance to review my private problem.. and also...
I got more confidence, of course, I think...

Last ciy, Quebec can be the mental centre of French Canada.....

this city, Montreal can be the real centre of French Canada that it was suitable for this city.

Most basements of Canadian Company locate in Montreal, so, it's one of the dynamic city.

There are also a lot of churches which is awesome in Montreal, especially, L'Oratoire St-Joseph, Notre Dame Basilica, they have sth to make tourist solemnly.

In my case, I prefer Montreal of my visited cities, because, it's dynamic, and especially, I think the past and present stay together, so that's why I prefer Montreal.

Quebec city separates between Old Town and New Town. It might be good, but also bad that I think.

However, they coexist in Montreal.

The looks that medieval buildings and churches which had built one by one in the forest of highrise, is in harmony mysteriously, so they show beautiful scenery.

I think this made me prefer Montreal.

It's real center of French Canada, so this area where uses French over 70% that,

I recommand that lots of medieval buildings and near a pier in Old Montreal, and L'Oratoire St-Joseph where is a little far away from downtown.

In my case, I don't have enough time, and money, I just looked around here quickly as possible as I could, but I think there are a lot of things to see in Montreal.

International Youth Hostel which I stayed was not bad. It looked a little shabby, and inside, there is a small bar which has good atmosphere, and price of food is not so expensive(about 10 dollar) and plentiful, so it's easy to have a meal.

Travel period is, if it's not my case....

I think it's better.....-0-

It's the Travel that I worried about travel a lot.

It's the Travel that I excited a little more than I worried about tavelling alone.

and...

It's the Travel that I expected that I could realize sth from this travel...

Quebec Province is the main area of French Canada(Canadian Area where the official language is French). And Quebec City where is the capital of Quebec Province is the place where fill the pride of French Canadian.

However, it's not bigger than its fame. but, It's the city that I felt that I could't explain my feeling from this city.

It's the city where keeps the past. While I walk around the city, it seems like that they fight against British again like its past. And I feel the holy of GOD, because of a lot of churches there. It's the place where they stay together which called Quebec.

But, tourist can look around here in a day, because of a cluster of tourist spot, so it's the good point and bad point for tourist. In my case, i felt bored a little bit, so I don't like it so much.

The period when I travelled was the end of March, so I felt cold around city, and it's the city where stared at strange tourist a lot.

However, as you can tell from these picture, it's the city where makes people want to go to church, and if tourist stay for a day, they can feel beautiful from the street. Chateau Frontenac where is symbol of the city is impressive. And Notre Dame basiliques(there are a lot of basiliques where the name is Notre Dame), and castle walls, La Citadelle are also impressive so a lot.

I felt a little uncomfortable, because most people speak French, but some clerks of shops can speak English, i didn't feel uncomfortable for shopping. But, the clerks of small shop speak only French, so It's possible to feel uncomfortable from buying a few groceries.

One of bad point is, here, there are no big markets like Safeway, Walmart or Save on Food. There is one big grocery where is a little bit far away from Old Town that it takes for 20-30 minutes on foot, but it's hard to get there, and hard to find it.;;;;

Ah, one more, if you want to look aound Old Town, walking is more convenience than driving, because the street is so narrow, and the road also is uphill and downhill. I think that walking is more easy to feel the mood of the street than driving...

But, don't travel in March or April....
